Different Types of Heat Pumps
To ensure that your home temperature is kept comfortable and that you do not pay more on your heating bills than you have to, it is best that you brush up on the different types of heat pumps. Environment Masters is here to help you with all of your Jackson heating repair, cooling and plumbing needs.
Air Source and Ductless Models
Air source models are some of the most common types of heat pumps and filter heat from the inside of your home to the outside air. If your home does not have vents or ducts, then you might want to look into getting a mini-split heat pump.
There are also new types of heat pumps called reverse cycle chillers that use cold and hot water instead of air in order to either cool or heat up a room. With this kind of heat pump, the unit works with a radiant floor heating system and can still be used as a regular central heater.
Absorption and Geothermal Models
Absorption heat pumps as also known as gas fired heat pumps and mainly use heat as their source of power. The great thing about this is that they can be fueled by several different sources of power.
If you do not mind spending extra money on installation, geothermal heat pumps are a great option because they make use of the heat that is found naturally in the earth or water. Something else to keep in mind with geothermal pumps is that they have a low operating cost.
