Why Is My Air Conditioner so Loud?

Loose components or debris are often to blame when your air conditioner is excessively noisy. Fan blades or screws that have worked loose over time can cause vibrations and loud rattling noises. The accumulation of dirt and other debris can also make your air conditioner run more loudly. Removing clogs and debris from the fan and coil fins may restore an air conditioner to a more normal volume level. Air conditioners can also become noisy when their parts require lubrication. This is one reason that homeowners can benefit from scheduling regular heating and cooling system check-ups in which simple maintenance can be taken care of. Finally, damaged parts, such as a bent fan blade, can also cause irritating noise. Often, these parts can be detected through a basic inspection and replaced easily.
